Doris E. McMillon, Senior Media Strategist, is a veteran journalist, newscaster, producer, media consultant and trainer whose professional experience includes senior positions at NBC News, WABC-TV, Fox Television, WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C and the U.S. Information Agency's WORLDNET.
Early in her career, Ms. McMillon ranked among the top broaD.Cast professionals as both a general assignment reporter and anchor for WABC-TV's Eyewitness News in New York, the city's most watched early-evening news program. She also covered news for "Good Morning America" and "The Regis Philbin Show," along with co-anchoring the city's prime-time news hour at Metromedia/Fox New York flagship station, WNYW-TV. In this position she wrote and produced news and features covering a wide range of subjects from sports and Broadway to the hard-hitting, Emmy Award winning series, The Welfare Ripoff.
In Washington, Ms. McMillon was a well-known reporter for WJLA-TV and a news anchor and moderator for the U.S. Information Agency's WORLDNET television. Her experience also includes working for Black Entertainment Television's (BET) nationwide cable network, where she anchored news and public affairs programs from Washington. Doris is a program host and the "voice" for GOOD LIFE TV. She has served, as the guest host for CNN's Both Sides with Jesse Jackson.
Ms. McMillon has appeared as herself in the role of a news anchor in Clint Eastwood's blockbuster movie, In the Line of Fire and in Wesley Snipes' movie, Murder at 1600, where she played the part of a CNN reporter. She plays the role of a primetime news anchor in NBC's Emmy Award winning drama, The West Wing.
Her best-selling book, Mixed Blessing, an autobiography of the search for her biological parents, received high praise in reviews from The New York Times, Larry King Live, New York Post, New York Daily News, the Washington Times and more.
The Washington Business Exchange Network honored her as one of "Washington's 10 Most Admired Women." She received the Washington Variety Club's Humanitarian Award and the International Business Exchange's Black Communicators Award and was selected as "Outstanding Young Woman in America" by "Who's Who in Black America".
She has taught media training for many years to leaders in the public and private sectors throughout the nation.
